Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen visited Kenya Ports Authority Managing Director Captain William Ruto at a Mombasa hospital on Saturday following a tragic road accident.
The crash, which occurred Friday night, claimed the life of Captain Ruto’s daughter and left him and three of his other children injured.

Speaking on social media, CS Murkomen said, “I condoled with Captain Ruto and wished him and other members of his family a quick recovery.”
He added that doctors had reassured him about the condition of Captain Ruto and his children.
“The doctors assured me that the MD and his two children are out of danger and should be discharged soon,” Murkomen said.
During the visit, the CS extended his heartfelt condolences to the family, writing, “Once again, I extend my deepest sympathies to Captain Ruto and his family during this difficult time and wish them a speedy recovery.”
Captain Ruto remains under medical observation.
The accident occurred in Taita Taveta County on Friday evening while Captain Ruto was travelling to Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. Reports indicate the crash involved a stationary trailer, which, according to CS Murkomen, lacked proper signage.
Murkomen urged motorists to exercise caution, particularly during the festive season when road travel increases, and called on all Kenyans to remain vigilant while on the roads.
