Three men suspected of livestock theft were killed by a mob on Friday morning after they were caught transporting two stolen bulls in a lorry.
The incident took place in the Memea area of Makueni County, where locals intercepted the vehicle shortly after the bulls were reported stolen from nearby Ngiini.

The suspects were attacked on the spot as the crowd accused them of being part of a larger livestock theft ring operating in the region.
During the chaos, the mob set fire to the lorry used to carry the stolen animals, while a fourth suspect managed to flee and is currently being pursued by police.

The killings follow rising frustration among residents over repeated livestock thefts that have affected the area for over a year.
Just days prior, unknown thieves reportedly stole 80 goats, two cows, a dog, and a rooster, heightening fear and anger among locals who depend on livestock for their livelihoods.
