He was received by Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika, Gilgil MP Martha Wangari, and Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku. More than 18,000 recruits officially graduated.
Ahead of the event, NYS Commandant General James Tembur oversaw a dress rehearsal last week, where recruits demonstrated their preparedness for the occasion.

This year’s graduation is another major milestone in the institution’s ongoing transformation into a regional hub for training and youth empowerment.

The recruits, who joined in February, have undergone six months of rigorous training that culminated in Thursday’s colourful parade featuring drills, marches, and displays.

NYS has over time widened its scope beyond paramilitary drills to include technical, vocational, and entrepreneurial training, equipping the youth with skills to play a central role in national development.
