CHAN Tickets Sell Out in Record 15 Minutes

Football fans scrambled for seats at the upcoming African Nations Championship (CHAN) clash between Kenya and Madagascar, with tickets selling out in just 15 minutes.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) had earlier announced that ticket sales would officially open at 12 noon on Tuesday. But when fans tried to log into the official website, many were met with technical errors as the platform crashed under heavy traffic.

When the site finally became accessible, organisers confirmed that all tickets were already gone. “Sold out. We are sorry, but this event has sold out,” read a notice from Mookh, the official ticket distributor.

The overwhelming demand highlighted the excitement surrounding the tournament, leaving thousands of supporters frustrated after missing out.

Authorities had assured fans of smooth entry and tight crowd management on match day.

CAF had also recently adjusted ticket prices, raising regular tickets from Sh200 to Sh250 and VIP tickets from Sh500 to Sh600. Despite the increase, the rapid sell-out showed the enormous appetite for the tournament.

CHAN 2024 has already showcased thrilling fixtures, with the Kenya–Madagascar quarterfinal on Friday, August 22, at 5 pm, expected to be one of the standout matches.
