Liverpool forward Diogo Jota, 28, has died following a tragic car accident near Zamora in northwestern Spain, according to Spanish state broadcaster, which cited local firefighters.

Police sources told Reuters the information appears accurate, though the victims’ identities are yet to be officially confirmed.
The Castille-Leon regional fire department reported that a vehicle crashed shortly after midnight on Thursday and caught fire, killing two men aged 28 and 26.
Jota, who recently tied the knot on June 28, was instrumental in helping Liverpool secure the Premier League title last season. He also lifted the FA Cup and League Cup with the club.
The Portuguese international joined Liverpool from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2020, netting 65 goals in 182 appearances. He also represented Portugal 49 times, winning the UEFA Nations League twice.
