National Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi revealed the figures on Thursday while presenting the Sh4.2 trillion budget, stating the enhanced funding will help improve justice delivery across the country.
“This allocation will support the administration of justice,” Mbadi said, emphasizing the government’s aim to strengthen judicial services and access to justice nationwide.
Other key legal and oversight agencies also received notable funding:
- The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) will share Sh4.5 billion.
- The State Law Office has been allocated Sh5.3 billion, a decrease from Sh6.9 billion last year.
- The Office of the Auditor General retained its budget at Sh8.7 billion.
The 2025/26 budget, themed “Stimulating Sustainable Economic Recovery for Improved Livelihoods, Job Creation, and Business and Industrial Prosperity,” aligns with the Kenya Kwanza government’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), Mbadi noted.
