The event, organized by Parliament, will take place at the Safari Park Hotel.

Announcing the change in an official statement on April 30, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula noted that this inter-denominational gathering brings together leaders from various sectors for prayer, reflection, and recommitment to national values.

President William Ruto will attend as the chief guest, underscoring the link between leadership and spirituality in Kenya’s development. Other dignitaries are also expected to be present.

This year’s theme, “Rise and Rebuild,” calls for unity and renewal across the country’s political, economic, and social landscapes. Wetang’ula emphasized the importance of the occasion as a moment for collective introspection and cohesion.

Additionally, the Women’s Convention, initially scheduled for May 28, has been moved to Tuesday. The event, also at Safari Park Hotel, will focus on leadership, inclusion, and empowerment for female lawmakers. All women MPs are encouraged to attend.

The National Prayer Breakfast remains one of Kenya’s most inclusive and bipartisan forums for moral and national dialogue. According to Wetang’ula, it is more than a tradition—it’s a reflection of the core values that bind the nation.

Last year’s event was held on May 30 under the theme “Hope.” The tradition began in 2002 after Kenya elected a new President and Parliament, with the Bunge Fellowship and other groups organizing the first national gathering.
