Kenya Power has scheduled electricity interruptions on Tuesday, May 5, 2025, affecting parts of Nairobi, Nakuru, Mombasa, Kilifi, Kwale, and Homa Bay counties for essential maintenance.

The outages will occur at different times between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., depending on the location.
Nairobi:
Power will be off from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in parts of the University of Nairobi, Loresho, Kaumoni, and surrounding areas. Nairobi West and its environs—including Nyayo Stadium, Madaraka Roundabout, Nairobi West Hospital, and parts of Langata Road near Galleria Mall and CUEA—will also be affected.
Nakuru:
Areas around Nkoilale Market, Sekenani, Talek, and nearby hotels and markets will experience outages from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Parts of Mt. Kenya region including Maria Njoki, several schools, and churches will be off from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Mombasa:
Power cuts from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. will hit neighborhoods like Shika Adabu, Bububu, Slaughterhouse, Kibaki East, Jara, and surrounding areas.
Kilifi:
From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., industrial and residential zones such as Pwani Oil Ltd, Vipingo Service Station, Safepak Limited, and Baharini Primary will experience outages.
Kwale:
Electricity will be cut from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in areas like Mabokoni, Mbuwani, Mwanjamba, Mwapala, and the Technical University of Mombasa.
Homa Bay:
Power will be off from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Koduogo, Kodiera, Ogongo, Koyani, Waondo, Luanda, Mbita, and Rusinga.
Kenya Power says the interruptions are necessary for system upgrades and maintenance. Customers are advised to take appropriate precautions.
