In a statement, FKF emphasized that football should remain a unifying sport and condemned any actions that threaten the safety of fans, players, and officials.
“Football must unite—not endanger—lives. We are working with relevant authorities to uncover the cause of the violence and will take firm disciplinary action once investigations conclude,” the federation stated.
FKF President Hussein Mohammed also condemned the unrest, saying it’s time to move from words to decisive action.
“What happened at Gusii Stadium is unacceptable. Violence has no place in our game. FKF will act decisively—we owe it to the fans and to the future of Kenyan football,” he said.

The clashes began before the 2:00 p.m. kickoff, with supporters from both teams engaging in stone-throwing. Several fans were injured in the melee, prompting urgent calls for ambulances and repeated pleas from stadium announcers for calm—efforts that initially proved unsuccessful.
