In Nandi County’s Chebarbar area, power will be cut from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
In Nyamira County, the blackout—set for 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.—will affect locations such as Kebirigo, Kenyenya, Sang’anyi, Mokomoni Market, Bonyunyu, Nyaramba Market, and nearby schools and factories.
Parts of Changamwe in Mombasa County, including Pamba Road, Miracle Park, Kenya Railways, and KTDA, will also be without electricity between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Kenya Power urged customers in the affected areas to prepare accordingly.
Why Power Outages Are Planned
Scheduled outages allow for essential grid maintenance, system upgrades, new customer connections, and infrastructure adjustments during public works. While these are prearranged, Kenya Power also deals with unplanned blackouts caused by equipment failure, faults, or vandalism.
