Authorities in Kitengela, Kajiado County, are investigating a tragic road accident that claimed the life of a woman on Friday.
The woman, who was riding on a bodaboda, was crushed by a trailer in Kitengela Township while returning home from a visit to her husband at the Athi River G.K. Prison.
Sources close to the incident revealed that the woman had been visiting her husband, who is currently remanded at the prison after being arraigned in a Machakos County court. She was reportedly on her way back to her rented home in the Tuff Foam area, where she lived with her family.
The source, who requested to remain anonymous, confirmed that the woman was traveling on a bodaboda motorcycle, with the rider intending to drop her off at the Kitengela bus park. From there, she was supposed to catch a matatu to continue her journey home.
An eyewitness reported that the motorcycle rider lost control of the bodaboda, causing the fatal crash. Tragically, the woman was run over by the trailer and died instantly at the scene.
Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident, and further details are expected as the inquiry progresses.
