President William Ruto officially presented the national flag to the Under-20 men’s football team during a ceremony held at State House, Nairobi, on Tuesday.

The team is set to represent Kenya in the 2025 Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
In his address, the President reaffirmed the government’s dedication to improving sports infrastructure across the country, emphasizing that proper facilities are crucial for nurturing young talent.

“Our main goal is to raise Kenya’s global stature in football and turn it into a commercially viable sport, much like athletics,” he said.

President Ruto also extended his best wishes to the squad, which has been drawn into Group B alongside Nigeria, Morocco, and Tunisia.
