Jeremiah Chirchir, the owner of the livestock, recounted the tragic events that unfolded last Sunday when his cattle went missing.
“They disappeared on Sunday evening, and by Monday morning, we began our search for them. We traced them to Emssea, but upon arrival, we discovered that four of the cattle had already died,” said Chirchir.
The family was left in shock and confusion as they found the first set of dead animals. “We couldn’t understand what had happened, as there was no immediate explanation for their deaths. We only found four of them dead at that point,” Chirchir explained.
The situation quickly worsened, as 14 cattle in total were lost to the devastating disease.
