Nyong’o Accuses Kalonzo of Dishonesty in Criticizing UDA-ODM Agreement

In a statement, Nyong’o explained that Musyoka had not consulted anyone during his discussions with former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua.

“In the meantime, Kalonzo has been meeting with all sorts of people, including Rigathi Gachagua, without consulting us. But we never complained,” Nyong’o said. “We saw it as his democratic right.”

Nyong’o emphasized that the Wiper leader was free to engage with President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga for the sake of Kenya’s future.

Previously, Kalonzo had criticized the ODM-UDA agreement, claiming it represented Raila Odinga’s betrayal of Azimio, a view Nyong’o disagreed with.

Nyong’o argued that the ODM-UDA agreement was meant to strengthen Kenya’s democracy and foster national unity. He also extended an invitation to Kalonzo to engage with both President William Ruto and Raila Odinga for the country’s future.

The MOU, signed in Nairobi last Friday, has sparked political controversy, with some Azimio leaders expressing dissatisfaction over what they perceive as the sidelining of the coalition.

There are also calls from some leaders within the Broad-based government to encourage Kalonzo to join their ranks.
