Ogamba stated that the portal’s opening aligns with the annual placement calendar.
A total of 246,391 students who completed the 2024 KCSE exams with a minimum grade of C+ are eligible to join universities.
Since January 24, the placement portal has been open for students wishing to join the Kenya Medical Training Colleges (KMTC), Teacher Training Colleges, and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions for the March and May 2025 intakes.
“We are dedicated to offering quality, relevant education and training through an inclusive, accessible, and equitable system, and we will continue working with all stakeholders to achieve this,” the CS remarked.
On February 26, KUCCPS reopened the portal for KMTC applicants, which had initially opened on January 24 and closed on February 14, 2025.
KUCCPS is now aiming to fill 21 KMTC courses that still have available slots for the March 2025 intake. The portal will remain open until March 4, 2025.
“All applicants who were not successful in the previous application and those wishing to join KMTC in March 2025 are encouraged to apply,” the notice stated.

Established in 2014, KUCCPS coordinates the selection of students for admission to universities, teacher training colleges, national polytechnics, TVET institutions, and other training institutions. The agency also develops career guidance programs, collects and stores placement data, and advises the government on student placement matters.

To log in to the Student’s Portal, students must enter their correct KCSE index number, KCSE examination year, and a password. The password is either the KCPE index number or the birth certificate number.
The portal (students.kuccps.net) is accessible via the KUCCPS website (www.kuccps.net) or the KUCCPS Students App.
