12 Kenyan Companies Make Africa’s Top 500 Brands List

Twelve Kenyan companies have been featured among Africa’s Top 500 firms by profit and revenue, according to a new ranking published by The Africa Report.

Topping the list among Kenyan companies is Safaricom, which is ranked 51st overall. It is followed by Kenya Power at position 96, Vivo Energy Kenya at 107, Kenya Airways at 114, and TotalEnergies Marketing Kenya at number 139.

Other Kenyan firms appearing in the ranking include East African Breweries Limited (169), Naivas Supermarket (178), Quickmart Supermarket (333), KenGen (345), Kenya Pipeline Company (413), Unga Group (487), and BAT Kenya (489).

The report indicates that Africa’s biggest companies recorded a 6.2 percent year-on-year growth, with their combined revenues reaching about $782.8 billion.

At the continental level, the top positions are held by Algeria’s Sonatrach, followed by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company in second place, and Vivo Energy Group, which is headquartered in South Africa.

The ranking points to growing momentum across Sub-Saharan Africa, driven by stronger commodity prices, improved currency stability, and changing sector trends across the region.
