In an incident along Mombasa Road, Nairobi, a woman fell victim to robbery moments after leaving a bank, losing Sh547,000.
Law enforcement successfully apprehended one suspect and recovered Sh477,000 during a dramatic operation in the nearby Mukuru slums.
The victim had exited the bank on Tuesday and proceeded towards Mombasa Road, unaware that she was being monitored by a gang ready to strike.
Upon leaving the bank, she was attacked by the waiting gang, who forcefully took her bag containing the cash after assaulting her.
As the perpetrators fled in a sedan, the victim sought assistance from bystanders.
Police on patrol intervened, resulting in one suspect being apprehended on foot, along with the recovered cash.
The vehicle used by the suspects in their escape attempt was found parked outside the bank, and authorities are currently pursuing the remaining perpetrators.
