The woman, identified as Marion Naipei, shared her account during a conversation with Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, Geoffrey Mosiria.
Her remarks come days after a video circulated widely online showing her dancing unsteadily as a man filmed her in what many viewers described as a degrading and inappropriate situation.
Naipei said the events stemmed from a meeting with a man she had been in contact with for nearly a year. According to her, the man had been living abroad and had made several promises during their communication.

She explained that they agreed to meet on Monday morning, January 5, after the man reached out via text message. She told him she was in Mwihoko, and he suggested they meet, offering to cover her transport costs.
Naipei said the man paid for a cab and asked her to go to a club, assuring her he would join her later and settle the bill.

When she arrived, she found several people already there, including the man’s friend. The group began drinking, and as time passed, she asked him to clear the bill. He instead encouraged her to continue drinking before eventually paying and buying food.
The pair later moved to another, smaller club, where Naipei said the situation deteriorated.
Speaking emotionally, she said the experience left her humiliated and traumatised, adding that she felt body-shamed and deeply embarrassed by what happened.

She admitted she was heavily intoxicated and believes the man took advantage of her condition. She also questioned his motives for recording her, saying the video would likely have been taken regardless of her consent.
Naipei apologised to her family, friends, and the wider public, expressing regret over the incident and saying she is now trying to find a way to forgive herself.
