The Wiper Patriotic Front has officially declared Kalonzo Musyoka its presidential flagbearer for the 2027 General Election, marking a major step in the party’s renewed political direction.
Kalonzo received his nomination certificate during a vibrant National Delegates Convention (NDC) held at Uhuru Park, Nairobi, on Friday, an event that attracted thousands of delegates and several prominent opposition leaders.

Among those present were DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua, DAP–K leader Eugene Wamalwa, NARC–Kenya leader Martha Karua, former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i, and former National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi.
In his acceptance speech, Kalonzo thanked party members and supporters for their confidence in him, pledging to lead Kenya toward unity, justice, and economic transformation.
“I humbly accept your nomination to serve as your presidential candidate for the 2027 elections,” he told cheering delegates, expressing gratitude to God, his family, and his wife, Pauline, whom he praised for her strength and inspiration.
The NDC also approved several key resolutions, including the party’s rebranding from Wiper Democratic Movement to Wiper Patriotic Front, and the adoption of a grassroots mobilisation roadmap ahead of the 2027 polls.
