Uasin Gishu Dam Accidents Claim Two Lives

Two individuals below the age of 25 have lost their lives in separate drowning accidents within Uasin Gishu County.

In the first incident, a male domestic worker reportedly drowned while attempting to rescue a sheep that had fallen into a dam in the Kimuri vicinity.

The second incident, in the Cheptiret area, involved a man who undressed and entered the dam despite its flooded condition.

Wanyama Sitati, the head of the county’s fire department, confirmed that the bodies of the deceased have been transported to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary in Eldoret.

Sitati also emphasized the importance of residents exercising caution and avoiding flooded areas during the current rainy season.
