Authorities in Mwingi, Kitui County, are probing the killing of Margaret Kavisa John, a 48-year-old woman whose decapitated body was discovered on Monday, March 4, 2024, along the roadside in Mbagwani village, Kakongo sub-location, Kairungu location of Mwingi Central.
According to Eastern Regional Commander Joseph Ole Napeiyan, the incident was reported to Mwingi police station around 2:03 am after an area administrator alerted them of a suspected attack.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim with severe wounds believed to be inflicted by a machete.
A bag containing clothes and a KRA PIN form was also recovered at the scene.
The body has been transferred to Mwingi Level 4 Hospital mortuary for further examination
