The incident was reported at approximately 10:45 p.m. by a local resident, John Kipkemboi. Police arrived at the scene and found Victor Kipkosgei’s body hanging from the roof of his house.
Initial investigations suggest Kipkosgei may have been dealing with emotional challenges, possibly linked to ongoing pain and trauma from a leg fracture he had been recovering from.
The scene was documented, and his body was taken to the Nandi Hills Hospital mortuary for a postmortem. Police investigations are ongoing.
In a separate case in Kisumu, the body of 25-year-old Charles Kinyanjui was found on the floor of his home earlier that morning.
According to police, the incident occurred at around 10:30 a.m. after his wife, Joyce Mwoncha, reported that her husband had collapsed and failed to regain consciousness. Officers responding to the call found Kinyanjui unresponsive, with no visible injuries.
Mwoncha informed the police that her husband had a history of collapsing when intoxicated and initially believed it was another such episode, but this time he did not recover.
The body was moved to the Port Florence Hospital mortuary, where a postmortem will be conducted. Investigations into the cause of death are still underway.
