William Kamket, the Member of Parliament for Tiaty, and Robert Komolle, the Deputy Governor of West Pokot, were both interrogated by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Nakuru on suspicion of incitement to violence.
Kamket underwent a two-hour interrogation before being released, with plans for him to return for further questioning in two weeks.
Meanwhile, Robert Komolle, the West Pokot Deputy Governor, is currently undergoing questioning by investigators.
The two officials were summoned by Charles Kanyuira, the regional DCI boss, to provide information related to ongoing investigations into the recent spate of banditry attacks in the Rift Valley region.
This is not the first time MP Kamket has faced legal scrutiny, as he was previously summoned by the Rift Valley DCI chief last year on similar charges of incitement to violence.
