Investigations revealed that the trio ambushed the teacher, forcing him into a maroon vehicle and driving him around for several hours before abandoning him.
“The victim was later discovered inside the same vehicle, visibly distressed, at Sahara Petrol Station in Kutus Town,” the DCI reported.
A good Samaritan rescued the shaken teacher and took him to Kerugoya Catholic Hospital, where he received treatment and was later discharged.
Detectives launched a thorough investigation that, after days of surveillance and forensic analysis, led them to the suspect’s hideout.
Preliminary findings have linked the suspect to other criminal activities, including vehicle theft, livestock theft, robberies, and shop break-ins across Kirinyaga and nearby counties.
He is currently being detained as police continue the search for his two accomplices.
