According to witnesses and police, the car was heading from Gigiri toward Ngara when the driver lost control, veered off the road and crashed into the pedestrians. Osman died at the scene, while his colleague passed away shortly after being taken to Aga Khan Hospital.
The driver fled immediately after the incident. Police said the bodies were taken to a South C mosque ahead of autopsy and burial.
The two were among 18 people who lost their lives in separate road crashes reported on Sunday. The fatalities included pedestrians, riders, pillion passengers, a driver and a passenger, while 30 others were injured.
Authorities have urged motorists to be extra careful during the festive season amid rising road fatalities, many of which involve pedestrians.

In a separate incident in Embu, Corporal Simon Njiru from Embu Police Station died after sustaining severe injuries in a motorcycle accident on Sunday.
More deadly crashes were also reported along the Naivasha–Nairobi highway, Wangari Maathai Road, and Thika Highway, where pedestrians and a pillion passenger were killed.
Police say road deaths continue to rise nationwide, with more than 4,000 people losing their lives annually, leaving families struggling with medical bills and loss of income.
