Officers were alerted and forced entry into the house, where they found her body wrapped in blankets. She was reportedly half-dressed and had visible head injuries.

The motive behind the killing has not yet been established. The body was taken to the mortuary for a post-mortem examination following the February 20 discovery as detectives continue with investigations.

In a separate incident in Tigania, Meru County, the body of a 40-year-old man identified as Francis Kamwitha was found by the roadside. He had multiple injuries on his head, legs and hands. The cause of the attack remains unclear, and the body was also moved to a mortuary pending further procedures.

Meanwhile, in Busia Town, the body of 23-year-old Daniel Wabwire was discovered in Sikoma village in what police suspect to be a murder case. Reports indicate he had been accused of stealing a mobile phone by unknown individuals who allegedly called his wife while assaulting him.

His body was later found lying by the roadside with visible injuries.

Police have warned against rising cases of mob justice as they investigate the incidents. Authorities note that murder cases have been increasing in various parts of the country, often linked to domestic disputes, land conflicts and business disagreements, and say efforts are ongoing to bring those responsible to justice.
