“Dad, our family patriarch, Mzee Kingi Mwaruwa, has peacefully passed on. My heart is shattered, especially when I think of the difficult journey and struggles you endured to shape me into who I am today,” Kingi expressed.
He described his father’s life as one filled with hardships, including numerous health issues that often kept him down.
The speaker also remembered a special moment they shared during the December 2024 holidays, when they danced together in celebration.
“Since becoming an adult, I can’t recall ever dancing with you, Dad. But on December 24, 2024, in Mjanaheri village, we danced together for the first time, moving from one song to the next until the sun set,” Kingi recalled.
“Your face radiated joy. That day wasn’t just a Christmas celebration; it was a thanksgiving for your miraculous recovery after years of illness. I had no idea that dance would be the first and last with you, Dad.”
Kingi expressed gratitude for the lessons his father taught him, which played a pivotal role in shaping the person he is today.
He shared that the greatest lesson his father imparted was to “never give up, no matter the challenges.”
“It is this lesson that has driven me forward. You truly were a gift from God. I could never have asked for a better father,” he said.
“Dad, may the Angels welcome you into Heaven with a dance, just like we did in Mjanaheri. Until we meet again, Dad.”
