Nairobi: Two Apprehended In Crackdown On Fake Mathematical Tables

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) apprehended two individuals on Friday for illicitly producing counterfeit four-figure mathematical table covers in Nairobi. This action is part of the ongoing efforts to combat the spread of fraudulent publications in the country.

The arrested individuals, Christopher Muthini Musyoki and Eugine Asunda, were taken into custody at a store located along Ronald Ngala Street. The DCI released a statement on Sunday, mentioning that the detectives extended their investigation to identify the store owner and the printing machine. Jeremiah Esikumo Opati, the owner, revealed that he had been contracted by Muyela Aluta Samuel, who was subsequently traced and arrested.

Furthermore, the investigation revealed that Muyela operates a printing store at Rahu House basement on Mfangano Street. During a search at this location, a printing machine and templates for Four Figure Mathematical Tables were seized. Muyela then assisted the detectives in locating another shop at Room 28, Manshram Mansion building on the same street, where they discovered over one thousand copies of Four Figure Mathematical Tables without covers.

The arrested suspects are currently in custody and will face charges upon arraignment.
