Ruto to Visit Raila’s ‘Bedroom’ for Development Projects and Investment Conference

Ruto is poised to visit Homa Bay, Raila’s stronghold, for a tour of development projects and the official opening of the county’s International Investment Conference.

Under the Kenya Kwanza administration, various projects have been initiated, including the construction of 110 affordable housing units in Homa Bay town, refurbishment of Homa Bay and Kendu Bay piers, and the establishment of a fish market in Homa Bay town.

During his visit, the President will assess the progress of these projects before inaugurating the second edition of the Homa Bay County International Investment Conference at Tom Mboya University grounds.

Governor Gladys Wanga and County Commissioner Moses Lilan affirmed that preparations are complete for the three-day event.

Wanga highlighted four key investment sectors: cotton and edible oil production (including oil palm, sunflower, and peanuts), aquaculture, and tourism, which will be showcased to potential investors from the US, UK, EU, and other foreign countries.

While emphasizing these priority sectors, Wanga also noted additional investment opportunities within the county.

She emphasized that the county has established frameworks to support large-scale production of edible oils and the revitalization of the cotton industry, aiming to boost wealth creation.

Wanga also underscored the tourism potential of the county, which boasts attractions like Ruma National Park, Rusinga Island, Lake Simbi Nyaima, and Gor Mahia Shrine.

Encouraging both investors and residents to seize these opportunities, Wanga declared Homa Bay as an ideal investment destination due to its strategic location, favorable climate, and growing population.

Lilan reassured investors and locals of heightened security measures for the duration of the conference, emphasizing the importance of making guests feel safe and welcomed.
