One individual has passed away and several others have sustained injuries due to severe turbulence encountered by a flight traveling from the UK to Singapore.
The aircraft, a Boeing 777-300ER operated by Singapore Airlines under flight SQ321 departing from London Heathrow, was compelled to reroute to Bangkok.
Singapore Airlines confirmed the incident, expressing condolences to the deceased’s family and stating that among the 211 passengers and 18 crew members on board, injuries were reported.
The airline promptly diverted the flight to Thailand, where it landed at 3:45 pm local time.
Singapore Airlines affirmed its cooperation with Thai authorities to provide necessary medical aid and announced the dispatch of a team to Bangkok for further assistance.
Their utmost priority remains offering support to all passengers and crew affected by the incident.
