Nominated Nyandarua County MCA Beth Wahito tragically lost her life in a road accident on Saturday night along the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway.

The fatal crash occurred around 11:00 p.m. as she was returning home from a budget committee meeting held in Naivasha.
Nyandarua County Assembly Speaker Stephen Wachira Waiganjo confirmed the incident, stating that Wahito was struck by a Guardian Angel bus while attempting to cross the road at an intersection. She died instantly.
In an official statement, the Speaker praised Wahito for her bold and dedicated leadership, noting her relentless efforts to advocate for and uplift the less fortunate in her community.
A seasoned political figure, Wahito’s career in Nyandarua politics spanned over 30 years. She served in senior roles within the Democratic Party, led NARC-Kenya in the county, and most recently acted as the UDA’s Kinangop coordinator.
The vehicle involved in the crash has been impounded and moved to Naivasha Police Station for further investigations.
