The notice states that the appointment was made under Section 6 (2) (e) of the ICT Authority Order, 2013, confirming Naiyanoi’s position on the board effective April 2, 2026.

Her new role places her at the heart of ICTA’s mandate, where she will contribute to strengthening Kenya’s digital economy and enhancing e-government services.

ICTA chairperson Lily Ng’ok welcomed the appointment, expressing confidence in Naiyanoi’s capabilities and the value she brings to the board. She noted that she looks forward to working with her and believes she will make a meaningful contribution.

A lawyer by profession, Naiyanoi has been actively involved in advocating for women’s rights, particularly in raising awareness about legal protections available to women. She has also participated in community outreach initiatives in Narok and Emurua Dikirr, helping women access legal support and understand their rights.

In addition, she has promoted girls’ education, encouraging young learners to remain in school and aspire to leadership roles.

Naiyanoi largely remained out of the public spotlight until the death of her husband in a helicopter crash on February 28, 2026. The aircraft, a Eurocopter carrying six people from an event in Endebess, Trans Nzoia County, crashed in Chepkiep, Mosop, Nandi County after hitting trees while flying in poor weather conditions.

In a heartfelt tribute, she described her late husband as a kind and dedicated father, reflecting on their marriage as a loving and life-changing journey.

She had initially indicated interest in vying for the parliamentary seat left vacant by her husband but later stepped aside after consulting with her family, citing personal reasons.
