Police in Nakuru County are currently investigating a disturbing incident in which an 89-year-old woman was allegedly sexually assaulted by her middle-aged neighbor. According to reports, the attacker assaulted the elderly woman while she was having dinner at her home on Wednesday night.
The assailant is said to have gained entry through the main gate of her residence, convincing the elderly woman, who lives alone, to allow him access. Following the assault, he locked the main gate from outside before fleeing the scene.
Concerns arose when the woman’s son, noticing that she hadn’t adhered to her usual morning routine, discovered the locked gate. Suspecting something amiss, he forcibly entered the residence and found his mother in pain. The elderly woman was subsequently taken to a local hospital, where doctors are attending to injuries sustained on her face and pelvic area. Reconstructive surgery has been recommended.
A doctor involved in her care stated, “She was wheeled to the theatre, where doctors performed surgery. She is in a stable condition and responding well to treatment, we are still monitoring her. She will be discharged in the next three days. We have filled the P3 form as police investigate the incident.”
The police are actively pursuing the suspect, who reportedly left his phone at the crime scene when fleeing.
