Nairobi Senator and Linda Mwananchi leader Edwin Sifuna has met US Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Susan Burns in Nairobi, adding to a series of recent engagements between the senator and foreign diplomats.
Sifuna on Friday, September 18, shared photos of his meeting with Burns and her team at the diplomat’s residence in Nairobi. He did not disclose the agenda or details of the discussions.

The meeting came two days after Sifuna held talks with Dutch Ambassador to Kenya Henk Jan Bakker at his Nairobi residence. Sifuna described the Dutch envoy and his team as warm and welcoming.
The engagements are part of a wider series of meetings Sifuna has held with representatives of foreign missions in Kenya in recent weeks.
He has also met former French Ambassador to Kenya Arnaud Suquet, who was accompanied by French Deputy Head of Mission Alexandre Peaudeau and Political Counsellor Romain Boyer.
Sifuna has further held discussions with EU Ambassador and Head of Delegation to Kenya Henriette Geiger and German Ambassador Sebastian Groth. In August, he reportedly met British High Commissioner Matt Baugh and Australian High Commissioner Andrew Barnes.
The meetings come as Sifuna becomes increasingly active on the national political scene ahead of the 2027 General Election. His Linda Mwananchi movement has been expanding its activities, while he has publicly indicated his interest in seeking the presidency.
On September 13, Sifuna led a major Linda Mwananchi rally in Nairobi, where he declared his readiness to pursue the presidency.
He has also been holding talks with other opposition figures. On September 10, Sifuna met Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and said they had agreed on the need for opposition leaders to work together ahead of the 2027 polls.
The recent diplomatic engagements, however, do not by themselves indicate endorsement of Sifuna’s political ambitions. Analysts have described meetings between foreign missions and Kenyan political figures as part of efforts to understand the country’s evolving political landscape ahead of the 2027 election.
