At Kilungu Level Three Hospital, Emmanuel Kirima’s family is engulfed in grief, confusion, and anger.
The shocking news of their 15-year-old son’s demise has yet to fully register. Emmanuel had only recently commenced his studies at Kilungu Boys High School as a Form One student on January 15. Just ten days later, his parents received a distressing call from the school’s authorities, instructing them to proceed to Kilungu mortuary to identify their son’s body.
The parents express profound devastation over the news and are troubled by the possibility that their son’s health concerns may have been mishandled. Initially informed that Emmanuel had been rushed to the hospital due to stomach pains, the family observed visible facial injuries upon inspecting his body, particularly on his forehead.
Despite inquiries, the school has not provided clarification on whether these injuries resulted from a fight, a fall, or an act of bullying before his hospitalization.
Citizen TV investigations have revealed that the 15-year-old was initially taken to a private hospital before being transferred to Kilungu Level Three Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Kilungu Boys High School’s headteacher, Goeffrey Muema, asserts that the school administration followed standard procedures upon learning of the student’s illness. He expresses equal shock upon receiving news from the hospital about the boy’s passing.

Opting to move the body to Chiromo mortuary for a post-mortem examination scheduled for Monday, the family aims to determine the exact cause of death.
Meanwhile, detectives have initiated investigations into the circumstances surrounding the student’s demise.
