Mystery as Man’s Body Dumped on Road in Vihiga

Police in Vihiga County have launched investigations following the murder of a 45-year-old man whose body was found dumped along a road in Ingalwa village, Kegondi.

The deceased, identified as Meshack Sindani Mengo, had stab wounds to the chest and neck. Officers suspect the killing occurred elsewhere before the body was left at Chandumba Market on Saturday. The motive remains unclear, and the body was taken to the mortuary for a postmortem.

In a separate incident in Baringo County, a nine-year-old girl was electrocuted while attempting to plug in a water heater at her home in Seketetwo village, Koibatek. She died instantly, and her body was moved to the mortuary for further examination.

Meanwhile, police in Mtwapa, Kilifi County, are investigating the drowning of a ten-year-old boy at Kenya Project Estate. The boy reportedly drowned in a swimming pool while playing with friends on Saturday. His body was recovered and taken to a nearby mortuary for an autopsy.

In Tharaka Nithi County, residents of Marimanti recovered the body of 52-year-old Nathan Kimathi, who had been reported missing, from the Kathita River. Police said the body had peeling skin on one shoulder and was moved to Marimanti Level IV Hospital Mortuary for a postmortem.

Elsewhere in Kirinyaga County, a 30-year-old man identified as Patrick Nyaga collapsed and died suddenly at his home in Mucagara village after taking a shower. The cause of death remains unknown, and the body was taken to the mortuary for examination.

In another incident in Kabete, Kiambu County, a man accused of theft died in hospital after being assaulted by a mob in the Ndumbuini area. He succumbed to his injuries hours after police rescued him and took him for treatment. Police have condemned the mob justice and urged the public to hand over suspects to authorities for proper legal action.
