The conference will also cover global governance issues and reflect on international dynamics. It provides a platform for sharing priorities and innovative ideas, addressing African positions on various issues, and seeking practical solutions.
Mudavadi plans to advance Kenya’s interests in economic partnerships, promote Kenya as a strategic hub in Africa, and hold bilateral meetings on peace, security, climate change, and infrastructure.
He will also engage with African foreign ministers to support Kenya’s African Union Commission candidacy.
This year’s meeting includes African Union Foreign Ministers, Japanese delegates, TICAD co-organizers (UN, UNDP, World Bank, AUC), and representatives from international, regional organizations, and civil society from Japan and Africa.

The event sets the stage for the TICAD-9 Heads of State meeting scheduled for August 20-22, 2025, in Yokohama. TICAD, initiated by Japan in 1993, aims to strengthen Japan-Africa relations.
