MP Mbui Vows to Propose Impeachment of Treasury CS Ndung’u

Kathiani Member of Parliament, Robert Mbui, has announced his intention to initiate a motion for the impeachment of Cabinet Secretary for Finance, Njuguna Ndung’u, if the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) disbursements are not promptly allocated to the rightful accounts.

Mbui emphasized that if the funds are not made available, his first course of action when parliament resumes will be to propose the impeachment of CS Ndung’u.

Furthermore, Mbui stated that he would hold President Ruto accountable for what he perceives as additional taxes imposed on Kenyans, a matter he attributes to both the President and CS Ndung’u, alleging that the blame is unfairly placed solely on Uhuru Kenyatta for various issues.

According to Mbui, the underlying objective of these actions is to frustrate Kenyans and corner them into unfavorable circumstances. He highlighted that despite parents in Kathiani actively participating in completing bursary forms for their children’s education, all 290 constituencies in Kenya are currently lacking funds for bursaries.

Mbui claimed that since the commencement of the financial year in July 2023, only Ksh.34 million has been received in NG-CDF accounts. These remarks were made by Mbui during an event in Kaani, following the distribution of bursary forms to parents.
