A 40-year-old woman was discovered dead following a suspected domestic altercation with her husband in Dandora, Nairobi.

Police identified the deceased as Judy Wambui Maina, whose body was found on the floor of her home on Sunday, October 12, 2025, with visible head injuries. Her husband, the main suspect, was missing, according to Nairobi Police Commander George Seda.

Neighbors reported hearing a commotion from the couple’s house before finding Wambui’s body and alerting the authorities. The body was moved to the mortuary for a postmortem as investigations continue. Police have launched a manhunt for the suspect, who remains at large.

Authorities have raised concern over the rising number of murder cases involving women. A special investigative team formed earlier this year to probe such killings has already completed a preliminary report awaiting release.

In a separate incident in Mosoriot, Nandi County, a 60-year-old man, Nathan Ngesirei, was found dead and naked by the roadside on October 12, 2025. Police said he had head injuries and a blood-stained piece of wood was recovered nearby. The motive of the killing remains unclear.

Elsewhere in Daraja Mbili, Maseno, Kisumu County, Hillary Odhiambo, 25, was stabbed to death following a quarrel with his cousin over a missing phone charger. Police said the suspect attacked Odhiambo, inflicting stab wounds to his chest and back. Blood stains led officers to the suspect’s home, where they recovered a blood-stained shirt and a slasher believed to have been used in the attack. The suspect, who had a cut on his hand, was arrested while seeking treatment at a local hospital and will face murder charges.

Meanwhile, in Kendu Bay, Homa Bay County, police are investigating the drowning of Byron Ochieng, 22, a fisherman whose body was found floating on Lake Victoria two days after he went missing on October 10. His body was taken to the mortuary as investigations continue.
