According to police, the tragic incident occurred at their home in the Nyakiambi area, where the two had been living. Authorities described the case as disturbing and confirmed that investigations are underway.

The matter came to light on Sunday after the woman’s brother reported her death to the police. Officers rushed to the scene and found the woman’s lifeless body inside her house. The teenage suspect, reportedly a Form Three school dropout, later confessed to killing his mother during questioning.

Investigators say the confrontation happened on Friday, July 25, around 1 p.m., when the teen demanded to know who his biological father was. When the mother declined to answer, the dispute escalated, and the boy allegedly struck her multiple times on the head, fatally injuring her.

The following day, Saturday, July 26, the teen is said to have dug a shallow grave in an abandoned house within the compound, intending to secretly bury her the next morning.

However, before he could go through with the plan, police arrived at the scene on Sunday and arrested him. The woman’s body was moved to Elburgon Level Four Hospital mortuary for preservation and postmortem.

Authorities have confirmed they are treating the case as a murder and are continuing with investigations.
