Following President William Ruto’s passionate national address, military personnel have now been dispatched to safeguard all designated areas across the country.
This deployment comes in response to a recent gazette notice issued by Defence Secretary Aden Duale.
Key locations such as State Houses in Nairobi, Nakuru, and Mombasa, as well as various lodges nationwide, are now under heightened security by the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF).
In Nakuru, troops were observed positioned along the main road leading to the Statehouse. Additionally, military presence has been noted at the mausoleum of the late Jomo Kenyatta near Parliament, following damage caused by protesters who breached barricades during demonstrations against the finance bill.
Under the Protected Areas Act, unauthorized access to these sites is strictly prohibited. Anyone detained for search purposes is considered to be lawfully in custody within these protected zones.
In his address, President Ruto condemned the hijacking of demonstrations and warned those involved in orchestrating violence and disorder.
He reassured the nation of their safety, emphasizing that all national security agencies have been instructed to deploy every measure necessary to prevent any threat posed by criminal elements intent on destabilizing the country.
“As we prepare to rest tonight, I want to assure every Kenyan that the government has mobilized all resources available to ensure incidents of this nature do not recur, regardless of the cost,” stated President Ruto. “The security of you, your families, and your property remains my top priority.”
