A form three student at Bande Girls Secondary School in Migori County has tragically taken her own life, citing harassment from a school prefect as the motivating factor for her decision.
As per a police incident report, the 15-year-old girl participated in a church service on Sunday within the school premises, accompanied by her peers. In a discreet manner, she left the service and was subsequently found lifeless in a classroom, a discovery confirmed by area chief Winnie Malemba.
The report also indicated that she had left a note explaining the rationale behind her decision. Authorities have initiated investigations into the heartbreaking incident.
