Chuka: University Student Stabbed 11 Times by Girlfriend

Police have launched investigations into two separate murder cases reported in Chuka, Tharaka Nithi County, and Embu town.

In Chuka, a 22-year-old university student was allegedly stabbed multiple times in an incident believed to have involved his girlfriend. The victim, Kelvin Sigei, a second-year Bachelor of Science in Engineering student, was found dead at Rovines Hostels in the Ndagani area.

Officers who visited the scene noted signs of a struggle, with household items scattered across the room. Blood stains were visible, and the body had 11 stab wounds to the chest and abdomen. Two knives stained with blood, suspected to have been used in the attack, were recovered from the scene.

Preliminary findings indicate that Sigei was last seen on Thursday night in the company of his girlfriend, who is also a second-year student at Chuka University. Her whereabouts remain unknown, and police are searching for her.

The motive behind the killing is yet to be established. The body was taken to the mortuary awaiting a postmortem examination.
