Kamau, who has been vocal about the challenges facing the ward, said he was disturbed by the sorry state of Ngano market, which had been neglected, overgrown with bushes, and littered with unhygienic conditions.
“Yesterday was one of my best days. After highlighting the state of neglect at Ngano Shopping Centre, we came together as a community and took action,” Kamau said.
The clean-up saw residents unite to clear overgrown bushes and clean public toilets, transforming the once-abandoned shopping centre into a more welcoming space.

Kamau expressed gratitude to all who participated, particularly the Ngano Youngstars group, for their energy and unwavering support during the exercise.
“As an incoming MCA, I have been pointing out challenges in our ward and solving those I can. Your support, encouragement, and prayers give me the strength to push forward,” Kamau added.

The aspiring MCA has vowed to continue engaging residents to find solutions to local problems, saying leadership begins with action, not promises.

“We want a Charagita that works for everyone, and it starts by restoring dignity to our public spaces,” he affirmed.
The clean-up initiative has been widely praised as a demonstration of Kamau’s hands-on leadership style and dedication to improving the lives of Charagita residents.
