In a notice to MPs, the Office of the Speaker of the National Assembly described his death as a great loss and conveyed condolences to the Kikuyu MP’s family. Members of Parliament were informed they may visit the family to offer condolences beginning Tuesday, September 9, 2025.
Arrangements for the funeral, including the requiem mass and burial, will be announced later.
Ichung’wah, a close ally of President William Ruto and a central figure in the Kenya Kwanza parliamentary agenda, has received messages of sympathy from colleagues across the political spectrum.
“May the family find comfort in God during this difficult moment,” the Speaker’s office said.
