Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo, responsible for Internal Security and National Administration, is encouraging the Maasai community to enroll their children in Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) courses across the country. Dr. Omollo highlighted government efforts, including the construction of TVETs, to provide students with skills that will be valuable for their future self-sustainability.
He emphasized that a degree is not necessary for everyone and that technical colleges offer various courses enabling individuals to support themselves. Dr. Omollo encouraged students who scored lower grades in KCSE, such as a D, to pursue certificate courses, then progress to diplomas and degrees, emphasizing the importance of continuous learning.
Addressing parents and students in Meto, Kajiado Central, during a youth mentorship meeting organized by MP Memusi Kanchori, Dr. Omollo stressed the role of education in shaping the destinies of youth and their communities. He urged parents to protect their children from teen pregnancies and early marriages, emphasizing that children under 18 should be in school.
MP Memusi Kanchori expressed concern about poor performance among form-four candidates in the constituency, highlighting that even those who perform poorly in KCSE have opportunities to continue their education. He organized mentorship programs to boost performance in secondary schools, with representatives from various educational institutions providing career guidance during a youth mentorship meeting.
During the festive season, PS Omollo advised citizens to prioritize safety and security, avoiding activities that may endanger lives and property.
