A 50-year-old man, Paul Kimani Karanja, collapsed and died in a toilet at his home in Limuru, Kiambu County, on Friday night.
Karanja had just returned from Kitui, where he had reportedly sought spiritual intervention due to challenges in his butchery business. Upon arrival, he informed his wife about his trip before excusing himself to the toilet, where he was later found dead.

Police officers moved the body to the mortuary for a postmortem to determine the cause of death. Investigators said they would also visit the church he attended in Kitui as part of their probe, with a focus on ruling out possible occult involvement.
Decomposed Body of Fisherman Recovered in Tana River
Meanwhile, police in Kipini, Tana River County, recovered a decomposed body along Ozi Beach at the Indian Ocean. The remains were identified as those of Joseph Raphael Kazungu, a fisherman who had gone missing. A black tag was found tied around his neck.
Authorities suspect he drowned after a fishing boat capsized in the area. A search is ongoing for another missing fisherman from the same incident.
Man Killed in Machakos
In Machakos County’s Mikuini area, the body of 32-year-old Musembi Mutinda was discovered lying in a pool of blood near a bar.
Police suspect he was murdered shortly after leaving the establishment. The motive remains unclear, and investigations are ongoing. His body was taken to the mortuary for autopsy.
