A lion is said to have fatally attacked a man at the Shimba Hills National Park Reserve in Kwale County.
According to a police report disclosed by alocal media, the body was discovered by a senior warden during a patrol around 9 a.m. The warden stumbled upon an abandoned motorcycle in the Marere forest area on the Kwale – Kinango road, accompanied by lion footprints.
Following a brief investigation, they uncovered freshly severed human body parts, believed to be those of an unidentified adult African male mauled by a lion.
The statement mentioned that police officers, along with KWS officers, visited the scene, and the victim’s remains were collected and transported to the Kwale sub-county hospital mortuary for identification and postmortem examination.
