Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe Signs 2024/2025 Performance Contracts

Kitui, July 10, 2024– Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe today presided over the signing of the Performance Contracts for the 2024/2025 fiscal year with members of the executive, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to accountability, transparency, and excellence in service delivery.

Speaking at the county headquarters, Governor Malombe emphasized that the performance contracting exercise would extend to chief officers, directors, municipality managers, and other officials through a staff performance appraisal system.

“I affirm that my government will use the performance contracting system as its main systematic approach, where the 16 sector development priorities outlined in the governor’s manifesto will be our guide,” said Governor Malombe.

The governor lauded the exemplary performance of all county ministries in implementing previous contracts, which led to significant improvements in service delivery. He also highlighted various milestones his administration has achieved, noting that the newly signed contracts will include a component of productivity mainstreaming. This addition is in line with guidelines from the 3rd National Wage Bill Conference held at the Bomas of Kenya in April, which emphasized aligning targets with measurable outputs and outcomes.

“It is imperative that we not only aim for high performance but also ensure that our efforts translate into tangible benefits for our people,” Governor Malombe stated.

The signing ceremony marks a significant step in Kitui County’s ongoing efforts to enhance governance and service delivery through structured performance evaluation and accountability mechanisms.
