Kenya’s Inflation Eases to 4.5% in November

Kenya’s inflation rate fell slightly to 4.5 percent in November, down from 4.6 percent in October, staying comfortably within the Central Bank of Kenya’s target range of 2.5–7.5 percent.

According to the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, the modest decline was driven by lower prices of essential household items.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) showed that the average cost of a 2kg packet of maize flour dropped from Sh172.41 in September to Sh168.56 in October.

Meanwhile, kale prices fell by 1 percent to Sh91.56, beans by 0.6 percent to Sh180.99, and sugar by 0.5 percent, contributing to more stable food inflation.
